In-House Glazing Laboratory

We are proud to be the only optician in Kells and surrounding areas to provide customers with an in-house glazing service for glasses. We are dedicated to serving our local community and ensuring our customers enjoy the very best finish with their eyewear.

What is an in-house glazing service?

Our practice has a fully equipped in-house glazing laboratory where we can assemble your glasses. We make single vision, bifocal and varifocal spectacles, plus tinted lenses and sunglasses for most prescriptions. Using the latest state-of-the-art technology, our expert glazing technicians ensure your glasses are made with the finest craftsmanship and to the highest standard. You can rest assured that with our in-house glazing services, your spectacles will be sure to meet and exceed your highest expectations.

How does in-house glazing work?

Once you have an up to date prescription from your latest eye exam, we’ll use this to discuss all of your lens options with you. To determine the best choice for you, we’ll factor in your vision requirements, lifestyle and personal preferences. Next, we’ll get to work making up your glasses in our very own glazing laboratory. Using your specific measurements, our expert team will precisely cut and shape your lenses so that they perfectly match your frames upon completion. Please note that this service can facilitate anyone who requires a prescription change, but not a frame change.

Speedy service guaranteed

Your comfort and convenience are extremely important to us. That’s why we’ve invested in an on-site glazing facility. Rather than subjecting you to delivery and wait times, our in-house glazing laboratory ensures we can get new lenses fitted into your frames for you as quickly as possible. As part of our exceptional service, we promise to get your single vision lenses glazed for you within 24 hours. Multifocal and bifocal lenses can take longer than this, but we will always advise you of the turnaround time to ensure you aren’t waiting for too long without a pair of glasses.
